2026年4月24日、イスタンブールの歴史的な街並みを舞台に、F1トルコGPの復活を記念したデモランが開催されました。現在レッドブル・レーシングのリザーブドライバーを務める角田選手は、伝説的なチャンピオンマシンであるレッドブルRB8に乗り込み、熱狂的なファンの前で走行を披露しました。
イスタンブールの象徴的なエリアであるガラタポートから出発し、ドルマバフチェ周辺の市街地公道を疾走し、V8エンジンの咆哮を響かせながら巧みなマシンコントロールで迫力あるドーナツターンを披露し、詰めかけた観客を魅了しました。
このイベントにはトルコのエルドアン大統領やFIA会長モハメド・ビン・スライエム、F1会長兼CEOステファノ・ドメニカリも出席しており、トルコGP開催に向けた正式な契約締結を祝う重要なローンチイベントとしての役割も果たしました。
角田選手はこのデモランについて、「イスタンブールの街をF1マシンで走ることは素晴らしい経験だ」と語り、現地の熱い歓声に応えました。
On April 24, 2026, a demonstration run celebrating the return of the Turkish Grand Prix was held in the historic streets of Istanbul. Tsunoda, currently a reserve driver for Red Bull Racing, drove the legendary championship-winning Red Bull RB8 in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
Starting from Galataport, an iconic area of Istanbul, he sped through the city streets around Dolmabahçe, captivating the assembled crowd with his skillful control and impressive donut turns, accompanied by the roar of the V8 engine.
The event was also attended by Turkish President Erdogan, FIA President Mohammed bin Sulayem, and F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali, serving as an important launch event celebrating the formal signing of the contract for the Turkish Grand Prix.
Tsunoda commented on the demonstration run, saying, “Driving an F1 car through the streets of Istanbul is an amazing experience,” responding to the enthusiastic cheers of the crowd.
