スプリント 予選16位 / 決勝18位
今朝のスプリント予選ではミスをしてしまい、うまくまとめることができませんでした。16番手スタートはとても残念でしたが、自分の責任です。前を行くダニエル(リカルド)を優先したほうがよかったし、ポイント獲得のチャンスがあったのでチームの戦略は正しかったと思います。レースはリアのグリップが弱く妙な感じがしたので、今夜チームと調べなくてはなりませんが、なにもないことを願います。セーフティカー先導後のリスタートでは、リアのロックがひどくてコントロールが効かず、危うくほかのマシンに接触するところでした。このコンディションで16番手からのスタートだったので、今日は明日に向けてマシンの状態を整えることに焦点を当てていました。今日はクラッシュもなかったのでよかったです。残念ながらポイントを取り逃がしましたが、明日は11番手からスタートできるので、トップ10でフィニッシュしたいです。
During Sprint qualifying this morning, I made some mistakes and couldn’t put a clean lap together. It’s super frustrating having qualified P16 because that position hurt us this afternoon, but it was my fault. It was better to prioritise the car in front, which was Daniel because he had a much bigger chance to score points than me, so I think the strategy was good. My whole race felt strange because the rear grip was really poor, but together with the team, we’ll investigate what happened there tonight, and I hope everything is ok. At the restart following the Safety Car, I had a massive rear lock and I couldn’t control anything, and almost crashed into another car, which would’ve been the worst-case scenario. By starting P16 in these conditions, my main focus was on bringing the car back in the same shape for tomorrow. Luckily, I was able to avoid any incident with any other car or barrier. I’m happy to start P11 tomorrow for the main race, which is the most important one. I miss the points, so I’m hoping we can finish in the top 10 tomorrow.

マシンは最高だったし、チームはすばらしい仕事をしてくれました。ポイント獲得でサマーブレイクを迎えることができてうれしいです。メカニックたち、ビスターとファエンツァのスタッフたち、エンジニアたちやチームを支えるすべての人たちに感謝しています。ここ数戦は苦戦していたので、久しぶりにポイントを獲得できてとてもうれしいです。前方のマシンが何台かリタイアしたおかげもありますが、レース中の手応えはとてもよかったです。マシンは速かったしタイヤマネジメントもうまくいきました。雨が降りましたがすぐに止んだので、マシンのペースをキープすることができました。昨日はとても苦労したので、このままサマーブレイクに引きずりたくなかったのですが、マシンのパフォーマンスを最大に発揮することができてよかったです。チームにお詫びとお返しができたし、サマーブレイクを少しでもポジティブな気分で迎えてもらえたらうれしいです。シーズン後半に備えて、十分に休みを満喫したいと思います。
The team did a fantastic job today; the car was flying and I’m happy to finish in the points before the summer break. A huge well done to the entire team: the mechanics, people in Bicester and Faenza, and trackside engineers. It’s been a long time since I scored points, and I’ve been struggling in the last few races, so I’m very happy now. We were slightly lucky with a couple of cars retiring in front of us, but I felt really comfortable during the race. The car went naturally forward, and I was just managing my tyres. At one point there was some rain, but fortunately, it stopped quite quickly, and I could keep up the pace and drive consistently. After the horrible day I had yesterday, I didn’t want to take that feeling into the summer break, so I’m happy I could extract and maximise the car’s performance. I feel I could give back to the team, apologise to them, and give them a little bit of positive energy going into the break. Now I’ll rest as much as I can and prepare for the second half of the season.
