金曜予選後
今日は本当に残念でしたが、仕方ないことです。トラックリミットは誰にとっても同じ条件なので、そこでミスをしてしまったことが残念です。明日のスプリント予選は、DRSトレインの中でのレースになるので、オーバーテイクは難しく、厳しい戦いになると思いますが、ベストを尽くして順位を上げられるようにトライします。いいスタートを決めることが重要で、それが最大のオーバーテイクチャンスだと思います。
I’m obviously disappointed with today, but it is what it is. Track limits are the same for everyone, so it’s just a shame I made that mistake. I think tomorrow’s Sprint Qualifying is going to be difficult as it’ll be a DRS train, so it’ll be hard to overtake, but I’ll try my best to make my way forward. I think getting a good start off the line will be really important and the best chance to overtake tomorrow.
スプリント予選後
フラストレーションの溜まる一日でした。かなりいいスタートが決まり、いくつかポジションを上げてターン4へ入りましたが、クビサ選手と接触してフロントウイングにダメージを負ってしまいました。その交換のためにピットインした後は、挽回するドライビングができたと思いますし、順位を上げられました。マシンの感触はよく、ペースもかなりよかったです。ソフトタイヤでのチャンスを最大に活かせたので、この経験を明日のレースにもつなげたいです。厳しい戦いになると思いますが、ポイントを目指して順位を上げることが目標です。
It’s a frustrating day. I had quite a good start and had gained a couple of positions before we headed into Turn 4 but unfortunately, I had contact with Kubica and suffered front-wing damage. After I came in to change it, I think I had a good recovery drive and was able to make my way forward. The car felt good today and the pace was quite strong, I really maximised the opportunity of the soft tyre, so I’ll take this experience into the race tomorrow. I think it’ll be difficult, but I will aim to make my way into the points.
決勝後
グリッドへ向かうラップでメカニカルトラブルを発見しました。グリッド上で解決しようとしたのですが、それができずにガレージへと引き返し、レースに間に合うようにトライしました。メカニックは問題を解決すべく頑張ってくれたのですが、不運にもスタートすることができませんでした。走行距離が増やせずにこのマシンでの経験が積めなかったことは厳しいのですが、切り替えてロシアへとフォーカスしていきます。
On the lap to the grid we found a mechanical issue with the car. We tried to fix this on the grid, but it wasn’t possible, so we brought the car back into the garage to try and sort it ahead of the race. My mechanics did a great job trying to get it fixed, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to start. It’s tough not to get more laps and experience in this car, but we need to turn the page and my full focus will now be on Russia.
