予選後
今のところいいレースウイークを過ごせていますが、今日はフラストレーションが溜まる日でした。Q3のアタックラップでトウを使わなくてもいいタイムを出せていたにも関わらず、トラックリミットでタイム抹消となってしまいました。このレースウイークで自信を取り戻すことができ、その結果が走りにも表れていると思います。バーレーンでの開幕戦以来、一番自信を持って走れているとてもポジティブなレースウイークです。Q2で記録したラップにはとても満足しています。明日の決勝はミディアムタイヤからのスタートとなり、いい選択ができたと思います。予選の力強さからシーズンを締めくくるのにふさわしい方向へ進めているので、明日はすべてをまとめて結果につなげられるよう戦います。
It’s been a good weekend so far but I’m of course a little frustrated today, it’s such a shame about the track limits in Q3, I think it was a good lap especially without a tow. My confidence has really returned this weekend and it shows on track, it’s the most confident I’ve felt in the car since the first race in Bahrain, so that’s really positive. I’m really pleased with my Q2 lap and it means I’ll be starting the race on the Mediums, which is a really strong position to be in. It’s definitely a good way to finish the season, with a strong Qualifying, and I just have to put it altogether when it counts tomorrow.
決勝後
今シーズンを最高の結果で締めくくることができて、とてもうれしいです。このレースウイークを通して、マシンは最高のパフォーマンスを発揮してくれました。レースペースがここまで良くなると予想をしていなかったのですが、結果的に最高の日になりました。シーズンをこんなに良い状態で終えることができるなんて、本当に最高です。ここまで来るのに長い道のりでしたが、これで自信を取り戻すことができましたし、最高の結果をもってオフシーズンに入ることができます。マックス(フェルスタッペン)、本当におめでとう! 彼にとってはシーズンを通してタフなレースばかりだったはずですし、今日のレースは勝つべくして勝ったのだと思います。同時に、HondaにとってF1最後の年となるシーズンでチャンピオンを獲得してくれたことにとても感謝をしています。
I’m so happy, what an incredible result to end the season with. I think overall this weekend the car has been really strong, I didn’t expect the race pace to be quite as good but in the end it has been a great day. It’s amazing to be finishing the season on such a high, it’s been a long journey getting back to this point, but I’ve really rebuilt my confidence and it’s great heading into the off-season with this incredible result. Huge congratulations to Max, it was such a tough battle throughout the season and I think he really deserved it today. I want to thank him also for giving this great result to Honda, as he’s given them the best way to celebrate their last year in F1.
