金曜予選後
ここも初めて走るコースなので、今朝のフリー走行はとても重要でしたが、すぐにスピードを上げていくことができてよかったです。マシンは非常にいい感触なので、今日Q3に進めなかったことは残念です。明日のスプリント予選は、この位置からのスタートだと難しい戦いになるとは思いますが、日曜のレースではより上位からスタートできるよう、追い上げにトライしていきます。
This is another new track for me, so practice was really important this morning and I think I managed to get up to speed quite quickly, which was good. The car feels good round this track, so it’s a shame I couldn’t make it through to Q3 today. I think Sprint Qualifying tomorrow is going to be a bit tricky starting from this position, but I’ll try to make my way forward so I can start Sunday’s race in a stronger place.
スプリント予選後
満足のいかない一日になりました。1周目でかなりポジションを落としてしまい、その後はソフトタイヤのパフォーマンスを引き出せませんでした。今週末のフォーマットでは、あまり多くの周回を走行できていないのですが、今日一日で学んだことが多かったので、今夜は明日に向けて確認していきます。
I’m not happy with today. I lost too many positions on the first lap and after that I couldn’t maximise the performance from the soft tyre. Due to the format this weekend, I haven’t completed that many laps here, but I learnt a lot from today that I can take away and look at tonight ahead of the race tomorrow.
決勝後
今日はなかなかフラストレーションが溜まる一日でした。タイヤの判断はよかったと思いますが、不運にもストロール選手との接触でレースを台無しにしてしまいました。リスキーな抜き方ではありましたが、彼がミラーを見ていなかったことで当たってしまいました。その後はずっとダメージを負ったまま走ることになったので、ペナルティーが科されたのは本当に残念です。ただ、レースではよくあることですし、次戦ではもっと強くなって戻ってきたいです。
I’m pretty frustrated after today. I think we made a good choice with the tyres but unfortunately the collision with Stroll completely ruined my race. It was a risky move, but he just wasn’t looking in his mirrors and we came together. It’s a real shame I received the penalty, as I also struggled with damage for the rest of the race, but these things happen and we’ll work to come back stronger next time out.
